What is a Chiropractor & what do they do?

Updated: Jun 21, 2021

A chiropractor is a healthcare physician with a doctorate degree that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and conservative care of spine-related disorders and other painful joint issues.

Chiropractors use adjustments and/or manual manipulation to restore joint function and support the nervous system. They help patients maintain optimal health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery. In addition to adjustments, chiropractors also provide soft-tissue therapies, lifestyle recommendations, and some fitness coaching.

Chiropractic adjustments are safe, specific, and use a controlled force applied to a joint in order to restore proper function and mobility.

Stress, accidents, falls, or overexertion can negatively impact your spine, muscles and/or other joints and the nervous system. Left unresolved, this can make you more susceptible to chronic problems and a decrease in the ability to enjoy life to the fullest. Seeing a chiropractor whether its for pain or wellness care is beneficial to keep you moving in the ways you enjoy.
